Please read these terms carefully before using AxLens.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the AxLens website (axlens.web.app) and/or the AxLens Chrome extension (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Arkam Shakil ("AxLens", "we", "us", or "our"), the developer and operator of the Service.

2. Description of Service

AxLens consists of two components:

  • Chrome Extension: A browser extension that enables QA and accessibility testers to inspect web page elements, capture selectors, source code, and screenshots, highlight semantic structures, and test responsive viewports — all without requiring full DevTools access.
  • Companion Website: A website that provides user account management, product documentation, and a contact form for support inquiries.

AxLens is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future, with appropriate notice.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password confidential and secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account credentials.

3.3 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use AxLens. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian to ensure they understand and agree to them.

4. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a:

  • Limited — for your personal or internal business use only
  • Non-exclusive — we may grant similar licenses to others
  • Non-transferable — you may not transfer your license to another party
  • Revocable — we may revoke this license if you violate these Terms

5. Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of the AxLens extension (except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law)
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Service
  • Redistribute, sublicense, sell, or lease the Service or any part thereof
  • Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or malicious purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or databases
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or interact with the website in a manner that places undue burden on our infrastructure
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service for other users
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when creating an account or contacting us

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the AxLens Service — including but not limited to software code, design, graphics, logos, trademarks, and documentation — are owned by or licensed to Arkam Shakil.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in our intellectual property except for the limited license described in Section 4.

7. User Content and Data

Any data you capture using the AxLens Chrome extension (selectors, source code, screenshots) remains entirely yours. We do not claim any ownership or rights over data you inspect or capture using the extension.

Information you submit through the website (such as profile details and contact form messages) is governed by our Privacy Policy.

8. Privacy

Your use of AxLens is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Specifically, we do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations
  • Any results obtained through use of the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • The quality of the Service will meet your expectations

AxLens is a testing and inspection tool. It is not a substitute for professional accessibility auditing, and we make no guarantees about the completeness or accuracy of the data it captures. You are responsible for validating any results independently.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Arkam Shakil shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (if any) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim
  • We are not responsible for any loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities resulting from your use of the Service

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may stop using AxLens at any time by uninstalling the Chrome extension and, if applicable, requesting deletion of your account by contacting us.

11.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe that:

  • You have violated any provision of these Terms
  • Your use of the Service poses a security risk to us or other users
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We decide to discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice where possible)

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your license to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including but not limited to Sections 6, 9, 10, and 12) shall remain in effect.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, please stop using the Service.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AxLens regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
