AxLens ("we", "us", or "our") is a Chrome extension and companion website designed for QA and accessibility testers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website at axlens.web.app and the AxLens Chrome extension.
AxLens is operated by Arkam Shakil, an independent developer. By using AxLens, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

When you create an account on our website, we collect the following information:
- Required: Email address, password (stored securely by Supabase), first name, and last name
- Optional: Date of birth, phone number, country, state, city, current designation, company name, LinkedIn profile URL, industry, primary role, team size, accessibility testing experience, and referral source
This information is collected directly from you during the sign-up process.
2.2 Contact Form Submissions
When you use the "Get in Touch" form, we collect your name, email address, and message content to respond to your inquiry.

We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics purposes. We do not use third-party analytics services. The only data stored in your browser's local storage is your theme preference (light/dark mode).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- Authentication: To create and manage your account, verify your identity, and enable secure sign-in
- Profile management: To display your account details and allow you to update your personal information
- Communication: To respond to your contact form submissions and, if necessary, send important account-related notifications (such as password reset emails)
- Service improvement: To understand how our service is used at an aggregate level and improve the user experience

Your data is stored and managed through the following services:
- Supabase: We use Supabase for authentication and database services. Supabase hosts data on secure cloud infrastructure (AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. You can review Supabase's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling practices.
- Firebase Hosting: Our website is hosted on Google's Firebase platform, which provides HTTPS encryption for all connections.
We implement the following security measures:
- All data transmitted between your browser and our services is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS)
- Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are hashed by Supabase's authentication system
- We follow the principle of least privilege in our database access controls

We integrate with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

- Google Fonts — Typography delivery (Privacy Policy)
- Firebase Hosting — Website hosting (Privacy Policy)
- Countries Now API — Country and state data for the sign-up form (no personal data is sent to this service)
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email address below.
Contact form messages are retained for a reasonable period to maintain our records and improve support quality, after which they may be deleted.
